A densely populated world, New Burgundy serves as the capital of Kyrnomacek as well as the cultural center of the nation. The population crowding is accredited to the world's only habitable areas being along the terminator of the planet, with the planet being described as "the urban ring". Despite this, the "cold side" of the planet is home to a large Snorx population, estimated to be approximately 30 million strong. The Gerg of Kyrnomacek typically resides here in a palace located on the planet's north pole, first constructed in 4199 and partially destroyed in a Clementinan raid in 4238. 

New Burgundy was first annexed by Gergitory at an unknown date, but was not permanently inhabited until 2650. It served as a mostly backwater planet after the Great Wipe until the discovery of large amounts of lithium attracted settlers to the world. In the opening days of the Dyromachy, ownership of the planet was frequently contested by the historic Nosopotamian Khaganate and the Blossom Papacy, with the former eventually winning. The pre-existing defenses on the planet as well as its location in the Nosopotamian system made it a suitable capital in the eyes of Gerg Geison II during the establishment of Kyrnomacek.
