The Thal are a type of hyperspace entity that manifest as silhouette-like humanoid forms that are composed of a stable form of thallium. Thal can produce this form of thallium at will to treat injuries, construct objects, accrete body material, or create new Thal. This is an exhaustive process that will often leave Thal requiring a period of rest following major additions of thallium. Adult Thal stand at an average height of approximately eight feet, and maintain a slim to fit body shape sometimes obscured by plates of highly packed thallium. Thal are bound by a life force similar to organics, but have no obvious organs or cells. Thal are not long lived, typically persisting in a single body for up to forty or fifty years. However, a Thal that expires due to natural causes will typically reform into a younger form rather than perish, allowing a continuous Thal to live through multiple generations of their body and achieve great chronological age.
Thal are believed to have first emerged from hyperspace as Skarj-like clouds of thallium particles that would collapse into a humanoid form in temperatures below thallium's melting point. Thal are unable to be transformed into Skarj by even the most powerful of their kind, much to the dismay of many Skarj. A large number of Thal make up a portion of the Pneumatic League's membership, where they coexist with Skarj by occupying jobs performed best by corporeal life. Other Thal reside in isolated communes in remote locations, and are considerably more militant than even Snorx who live similar lifestyles. Caution is advised when dealing with Thal.
