P.K. Martin

Senator P.K. Martin, a Republican, represents the 9th district, which includes portions of Gwinnett County, and serves as Governor Nathan Deal’s Floor Leader in the State Senate. Sen. Martin is the Vice-Chairman of the Higher Education and the State and Local Governmental Operations Committees. He is Secretary of the Insurance and Labor Committee and an active member of the Senate’s Transportation Committee. Martin was named the 2017 Legislator of the Year by TAG (The Technology Association of Georgia) for his efforts as Chairman of the Senate Information Technology Corridors in Georgia Study Committee. Senator Martin is a Lawrenceville native. He received his Bachelors degree in International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology. A small businessman and insurance agent, he works at Hood Insurance Agency in Lawrenceville. He and his wife, Amanda, have two children, Charlotte and Kuhl, and are active members at their church, Holy Cross Cathedral in Loganville.
