Luis Solis Jr.

A native of Brownsville, Texas, Luis (Lou) M. Solis, Jr. enjoyed a remarkable career as the Assistant Police Chief of Braselton Police Department prior to joining the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, where he serves as Chief Deputy of Operations. He is married to Dr. Kathy Ann Towers-Solis and is the father of three adult children and has four grandchildren.

  • Retired as a U.S. Army Ranger.

  • Marietta Police Department’s SWAT team

  • Elite U.S. State Department’s personnel security detail in Basrah, Iraq and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

  • Graduate of the Georgia Law Enforcement Officer Command College, as well as the prestigious FBI National Academy (Class #237).

  • Utilizes his fluency in Spanish as a bilingual hostage negotiator for the Georgia State Patrol.

Keith Van Nus

Keith has been faithfully married to his wife for 47 years, with whom he has seven children and 12 grandchildren (all live and work in Gwinnett). Keith also enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 8 years as a law enforcement and corrections upervisor. He was stationed at Fort Warth, Texas, before being moved to Okinawa, Japan.
