James S. “Jason” Shaw Jr., is a Lanier County native, UGA Political Science graduate, and a former Georgia House Representative. He is a husband, father, and churchgoer who has served in various public service positions throughout his entire life.

McDonald is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA in Business. He also served six years in the Georgia Air National Guard. During his time on the Commission McDonald has presided over the advent of solar power in Georgia resulting in the state becoming one of the top five fastest growing in the nation for solar energy.
