Birds

Since childhood I have enjoyed birdwatching.

I think you would call me a fair weather birdwatcher. I enjoy seeing birds and wonder at the returning migrants such as swallows, house martins and swifts that make long journeys often back to the same nest.

Swallow numbers seem to be down. I saw one in early April 2021 but have seen none since.

Swifts usually arrive here in early May. Often they are heard (screaming) before they are seen.
