DST100 Receiver
This was my first proper HF receiver.
It was bought from a local garage for £7, but it was deaf when I first got it. Local amateur G3CHN worked his magic and it came back sensitive. Maybe he replaced the valves?
It was very big and very heavy needing 2 people to lift it. It gave good service for several years and copied some good DX on HF AM. One of the best was Campbell Island near New Zealand on 20m AM.
It was sold when I went to university. I think it was made for tanks by Murphy.
I remember being puzzled by the bandspread on the VLF band. Stations seemed to cover a wide part of the dial. Of course they should! In those days I was very ignorant.
