WELCOME to East Lothian Intergenerational Network
In April 2023, East Lothian's first Meeting Centre proudly and delightedly opened its doors, in its current home.
After years of diligent, dogged and determined work, led by Sue Northrop of Dementia Friendly East Lothian, and funding support from the Integrated Joint Board (Health related collaborative work by ELC and NHS Lothians) this researched model has offered something very special for its members and friends in Musselburgh.
Led by Manager, Fiona Barrett and two dedicated staff members plus volunteers, it's the members who are the heart of the Meeting Centre - and having just celebrated their first year, its clear to see that the Meeting Centre is off to a flying start.
A year on -
Members have enjoyed a very active programme, both in and out of the centre - and are speaking up for what matters to all of them. One highlight has been the Intergenerational Programme started with senior pupils in Musselburgh Grammar as part of the schools "Wider Achievement" programme with music teacher Ellie Ganson. It has been so successful that the Members have noted more IG work is really important to them, during the Co-Production workshop that took place in April.
Both Ellie and Fiona were participants in the GWT Training Day during GIW24 - with thanks to host venue Musselburgh Grammar School. Fiona also recently completed the ICIP Course with GWT and international network. Congratulations Fiona!
