WELCOME to East Lothian Intergenerational Network
November took us to the Pennypit Centre in Prestonpans to learn about local work, build connections and chat about all things intergenerational - specifically opportunities to connect, grow and strengthen our communities.
It was a true delight to hear from 3 speakers:
Ruth Davie (Fundamental Foods, Pennypit Community Development Trust and Friendly Food Network)
Mark McKergow founder of Village in the City & West End Coorie
Alistair Shields, a Research Assistant at QMU who is currently developing his research around a very specific dementia-friendly approach but with much wider connotations. Curious?
We had a terrific turnout, covering ELC's Connected Communities workers & youth / young people who are Carers. Those with volunteering focus, including Grandmentors. Arts and creativity in the community with the incredible power of connection and activities through all these offer. Dementia friendly and dementia specific focus, ABCD development, gardening and growing. Ages ranged from 13 to 60+ - but who was missing? Who do you think would benefit from - or add to - our network going forward?
Thanks to all who joined our Conversation Café and explored Intergenerational Connections and opportunities together.
