Je parlerais.................nous parlerions
tu parlerais..................vous parleriez..
il parlerait................. ils parleraient
For all regular verbs, you add these endings on to the infinitive. With -re verbs, you take the "e" off before adding the endings. The Irregular verb are the same that are irregular in the future. Essentially you are using the future stem with the imperfect endings.
aller - j'irais
avoir - j'aurais
faire - je ferais
être - je serais
savoir - je saurais
vouloir - je voudrais
devoir - je devrais
recevoir - recevrais
courir - je courrais
mourir - je mourrais
pouvoir - je pourrais
voir - je verrais
envoyer - j'enverrais
venir - je viendrais
essayer - essaierais
nettoyer - nettoierais
payer - paierais
And watch our for :
acheter - j'achèterais
se lever - je me lèverais
appeler - j'appellerais
The conditionnel - The conditional basically takes the “future stem” and adds the endings for the imparfait. The result is a verb that often sounds much like the future (although it has imperfect endings). It is translated as I would verb.
je travaillerai - I would work
J’irais - I would go
Irais-tu ?- would you go ?
It is used to show condition or possibility, I would go if I had enough money
And to demonstrate politeness “I would like”
It is also used in certian types of If --> the constructions
There are three types of “if-then constructions in English and French:
#1 If I save enough money I will go (If the present --> then the future)
#2 If I saved enough money, I would go (If the imperfect --> then the conditional)
#3 If I had saved enough money, I would have gone. (if the past perfect --> Then the past conditional)
In French, these are the same:
#1 Si je garde assez d’argent, j’irai. (If the present --> then the future)
#2. Si je gardais assez d’argent, jirais. (If the imperfect --> then the conditional)
#3. Si j’avais gardé assez d’argent, Je serai allée. (if the past perfect --> Then the past conditional)
