Interdisciplinary Flamenco Project
In conjunction with the Flamenco Presentation we will be attending on January 25. Each student will be working on their own project about the culture of Flamenco or the Gitanos (or Roma as many now self-identify)
Your presentation may take many forms. Here are some suggestions below:
Performance Musical or Dramatic
Video
Art piece (fine art, model, artifact)
Presentation digital or physical
Your work needs to scratch beyond the surface of the topic. For instance, if you choose to learn some of the dance steps, discover WHY those steps have become integral to Flamenco dancing.
Here are some suggestions for your topic:
Flamenco music (guitar, clapping, other instruments,)
~perform and explain, analyze music
Dance~ perform and explain, analyze dance
Traditional dress ~show /create and explain
History or current events of flamenco or the Roma (current topics)
Feria en Sevilla or other aspect of Andalucía that connect with Flamenco
We will be presenting projects during the week of January 22nd to the 25th.
