paper slides

Artifacts:

    1. Build Vocabulary Skills with Paper Slide Videos Presentation
    2. Published Paper Slide Videos
    3. Paper Slides eBook

Overview:

These artifacts represent a Paper Slide project I did in one of my workshops. Participants had to be creative and communicate their ideas via a video they produced, which was later published on Seesaw. For this activity, they were focusing on vocabulary acquisition in their content areas.

Reflection:

Paper Slides is a great way to allow students to be creative with just plain old paper and markers. Once students draw, they pick it up a notch by creating a video. They go through the process of storyboarding and scripting before they record. Once their videos are complete, they upload them to Seesaw and then they are published for the world to see.

personalize emoji - made with code

Artifact: Emoji-cize Learning with Google Activities & Resources

Overview:

This artifact contains many emoji activities that teachers can use in the classroom along with Google. Emojis are not only fun but they also allow our students to be creative and communicate in ways we never thought possible.

Reflection:

One activity I wanted to highlight on the artifact is the "Personalize Emoji - Made with Code." Using the Blockly programming language, students can create an emoji in a virtual workspace. It a fun activity and helps students learn how to code.

gamification

Artifact: The Gamification of Learning and Instruction

Overview:

This artifact is a Gamification workshop I conducted at the Innovative Learning Conference. Modeling and nurturing creativity can be done by engaging students to create games.

Reflection:

Gamification has emerged as an innovative teaching-learning strategy that researchers have shown to be effective in improving student learning outcomes. In this workshop, students were tasked with creating a game as a way for students to review for an exam.
