Artifact:
Overview:
These artifacts are example of the way I incorporate choice into my workshops in order to accommodate learner differences. I created the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge in Google Docs and the Chromebook Skills Bingo in Google Drawing.
Reflection:
I enjoy creating choice boards for my workshops because it allows my participants to choose how they will learn. Both the Tic-Tac-Toe and Bingo choice boards offer a series of activities and participants decide which they want to complete based on interest, learning need, or ability. They are easy to create and are a great way to differentiate instruction.
Artifact: Station Rotation Activity | Station Links
Overview:
This artifact is an example of learning stations I set up for one of my workshops on using technology for vocabulary acquisition. I use learning stations in my workshops so that participants can have choice in their learning based on their interests.
Reflection:
Whether its due to culture, preference or learning needs, students respond differently to different types of content, therefore, I like to set up learning stations. Each station uses a unique method of teaching a skill or concept related to the topic. After going through some of the stations, the participants can further process the information with reflection or discussion. The station rotation activity take a lot of time to set up but it's well worth it.
Artifact: Personalized Learning Workshop | Sample Personalized Learning Classroom Plan
Overview:
This artifact is a workshop I conducted on personalized learning. The goal of this workshop was to give educators an understanding of personalized learning and how technology can be used to support personalized learning.
Reflection:
I believe students will be more engaged with content when it is personalized and when students are given choice in selecting assignments. It is my hope that educators recognize that all students learn differently and have their own unique paths to mastery.
Artifacts:
Overview:
These artifacts highlight my many efforts to advocate for and educate on how educators can use technology to meet the diverse needs of students. Through my numerous presentations and blog posts on accessibility and differentiation, I am able to provide teachers with resources that will help them address the needs of their students, who all have a variety of learning styles and abilities.
Reflection:
I have always believed that not all students learn the same way. By creating these artifacts, I hope that I can help teachers understand that they will find their students to be more successful and more motivated once they start meeting their individual needs. My current position allows me the opportunity to lead this effort and advocate for this change.
