JOB TEASER: All advertisements for internship positions are posted there, it's a platform specifically made for the students
rauhankasvatus.fi -> Internship position
INTERNSHIP FAIR: There is an opportunity to participate in the organization
What's the main purpose of your CV? The purpose is to get you to an interview
The CV must be structured in a way so that a person can scan it in 14 seconds
"How to get a job?" is the wrong question
"Who I have to be to get the job?"
ATS: Applicant Tracking Systems -> Photos and Canva templates are not ATS-friendly and can disqualify you
1) if you have too many graphics
2) Key words (Skills, Soft Skills (that match the job application) etc.)
its good for the key words to be "masked", not just copy-paste from the job application
-> International and Intercultural skills are an important asset that we as international students should include in our CVs
The person who gets the job is the person that we like the most - not the one with the most skills
The script for your CV is the job application
What is the difference between internship vs traineeship
intern = you can graduate and still go for an internship - companies dont care if you're going to get the credits or not, they are not oriented towards your graduate-status
You can take as many internships as you want BUT
funding (you can only get it once)
traineeship = focus
KNOW YOUR STRENGTHS: international, intercultural
Profile sector is really important
About networking
-> In the internship fair, the most important thing is to gather information, to figure out what they want and who they are, it's not about you, not about talking about yourself
When you go up to someone it's important first to figure out their role in the company, if they are HR, if they are an intern etc.
Depending on their position you can gather different kind of information about the company and use it later.
