Week 2 - Introduction to Self-Regulated Learning
This Week's topic was the exploration of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL).
Through a series of individual and collaborative tasks including readings and videos, the aim was to get a better understanding of the history, the definition of SRL, as well as, the research-based evidence on the practical value of SRL skills. Lastly, the topic of supporting students' SRL skills as educators was introduced.

Self-Regulation (SR) is a process but also a skill - therefore it can be targeted, practiced and developed
SR is intertwined with many other theoretical concepts and human aspects, such as motivation, emotions. The SR progress is not linear - we can be SR learners but context matters as well, for example not having motivation for a task can lead to not self-regulating well, whereas at the same time you might self-regulate very well for another task that matters to you.
Setting goals for our learning is VERY important - it is an essential step that should not be skipped!
