It is not only a platform where people are learning, they are also creating knowledge, so they work together in collaborative projects
-> Co-creation lab is not following one discipline, it has mixed subjects like science, art, humanities
-> Another aspect is that you are not creating only a formal learning platofmr, but also a platform where you can get to know people and make friends around the world

-> It examines how VR, AR, and MR can contribute to creating personalized learning environments

VR: This is a fully digital computer-generated environment, it replaces the physical world
AR: This does not replace, it enhances it adding elements
MR: It is a combination of the above, VR and AR coexist and interact in real time
They involve different technologies:
VR: Room-sized environments where users are surrounded by visuals - users are completely engaged in this environment
AR: Smartphones, tablets
MR:
-> There are three dimensions that work together in immersive learning environments to help you learn more effectively
1) AGENCY: You are required to make a decision, you are actively participating
2) NARRATIVE: A story or meaningful context helps you keep focused and emotionally connected
3) SYSTEM IMMERSION: It is about feeling present in an environment - you are experiencing it like you are actually there
-> How immersive technologies contribute to SRL
They do so by fostering social presence and promoting reflection
They develop independent learners who take responsibility of their own learning
-> LIMITATIONS & FUTURE RESEARCH
These technologies don't target specific SRL strategies like monitoring, they take SRL as a whole, as a general process -> this can be further researched
