A Note from Ms. Palmer, KJHS Principal
Dear Kingsley families,
I don't know about all of you but I have spent the last two weeks catching my breath after the whirlwind end of the 22-23 school year. It was truly a year of growth here at KJHS for both students and adults. Over the course of the summer, KJHS administration and staff will be actively engaged in preparing for the 23-24 school year so your students return to the best possible middle school experience. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy a wonderful summer filled with relaxing and memorable events.

KJHS Updates
Summer Hours
The KJHS Main Office summer hours are 9:00 am - 3:00 pm from now until July 31, 2023. Here are a few things you should be aware of when wanting to access KJHS this summer:
The office will be closed from 6/16/23 - 6/23/23 for cleaning purposes.
There is summer school going on at KJHS from 6/12/23 - 6/30/23.
You can drop off paperwork at KJHS outside of office hours by placing it in the silver drop box on the north wall outside of the main entrance to KJHS (Kingsley St, Door A).
Online Registration
Registration for next School Year (23-24) is now open. Current Unit 5 student information can be found on the Established Student Registration page. This link is for families that had a student registered with Unit 5 for the 2022-2023 school year. To access, log in to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, go to "More" on the left hand side of the page, and click on "Online Registration." For further guidance, please refer to the Returning Student Online Registration Help & the Infinite Campus Returning Student Registration Directions
There are no fees due at this time for any students. Fees will be available to pay in July, and additional information will be made available closer to that time.
If you run into issues with registration, please call the Unit 5 Registration hotline at (309) 557 - 4242. In person assistance will not be available at KJHS until the KJHS Guidance Office reopens on July 31, 2023.
School Supply Lists
For those of you wanting to get a head start on school supply shopping, here are the 23-24 school supply lists. While most supplies are common across each grade level, there are a few items that are team specific. We have placed those items separately and they can be purchased after team assignments are shared on August 4th.
Fall Sports
Three sports (boys baseball, cross country, and girls softball) start prior to the start of the school year. In order to try out, students must register for the desired sport on the KJHS athletics site as well as having a birth certificate and current athletic physical on file in the KJHS office. Here are the tryout/start dates:
Boys Baseball: Tryouts are July 31 - August 3
Cross Country: Practice starts July 31
Girls Softball: Tryouts are July 24 - 26
We will send out specific times in the July Kingsley Family Connection.

We had several events/activities in May at KJHS. We will be posting pictures from these events during the months of June and July. We apologize for the delay in sharing visuals of the fabulous end to our school year.

Incoming students & families often ask "how can my child get involved & participate in the Kingsley community?" Great question!

Student Council is putting on a dance from 3:45 - 5:30 in the KJHS cafeteria. The theme is "Winter Glow" and tickets are on sale now. Attendance is limited to 250 students and students with a 2nd quarter ISS or OSS will not be allowed to attend the event.
