Virtual Family-Teacher conferences will be held on January 22, 2021 using Google Meets or Zoom.
How do you sign up? On January 8, 2021 at 8am there will be a link on the KJHS website under Cavalier News and Frequently Used Links to connect you to PTCFast.com. The PTCFast.com site will ask for your email address, student's name, and your name. After you enter that information, PTCFast will email you an invitation to sign up for conferences.
In that email from PTCFast, click on the link and select the conference(s) you would like to sign up for. You can sign up for a separate conference with exploratory, PE, and music teachers. You will receive a confirmation email from PTCFast.com with the virtual link that you will use for your conference.
PTCFast.com will give you the ability to schedule, change, or cancel your Family/Teacher conference anytime until the day before conferences. If you do not have Internet access please call the guidance office at 557-4899 to set up your conference.

On Monday, January 11, Kingsley converts to a hybrid or blended school. A hybrid or blended school means that we have the privilege of serving students & families in both a remote and in-person format. We anticipate nearly 280 online students, who will engage with us online exclusively, and approximately 520 in-person students, who will engage with us in-person and remotely.
The at-home learning schedule for January 11 and beyond is nearly identical to the schedule we used during our previous hybrid time. Here is an at-home version of the schedule for 6th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade.
We look forward to the day when we have one schedule all year & all students & staff in the building together. We aren't there yet and appreciate your continued partnership in your child's education.
To say this is an unusual year is an understatement. While student's social emotional wellness is always a priority, it is more of a focus this school year.
To reduce student stress, increase time for rejuvenation, decrease student school work load, & maintain a strong academic program, we are focusing on the most critical course content with students. Teachers are spending more time on fewer topics and if time allows, exploring those topics more deeply.
How can you check academic progress information?
All academic progress information can be viewed in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Directions for accessing academic progress information is included in the video & in a written format in English & Spanish.
There are not hard copy report cards unless you requested that at registration.
In-progress & final grade calculation methods are explained here.
Most grades are in progress through the end of the school year because students are continuing to grow & learn through the end of the school year.
At the end of semester one, the only finalized grades are in exploratory, Honors Geometry & Algebra.

Weekly during January, we will continue to offer remote students the option to enjoy a virtual lunch with peers. It's a time to socially connect & break bread virtually with friends.
6th grade: Thursdays at 12:00 p.m.
7th grade: Tuesdays at 11:10 a.m.
8th grade: Mondays at 12:50 p.m.
Students were invited via a Google Classroom during the week of November 30.
