Walk-In Registration August 4 & 5 from 4:30-6pm for families who have not registered online

For staff to focus on getting all students registered, practice walking schedules & locker visits/decoration are not an option on August 4 & 5. Don't worry though, there are several dates available for practicing schedules & locker visits/decoration. Keep reading!

Student Schedules will be emailed to Kingsley families on the evening of August 5.

Practice Walking Schedules & Locker Visits

August 9, 10, 11 & 12, 9-11 a.m. & 1-3 p.m. ~ optional for all Kingsley famlies

All are welcome & embraced by the Kingsley community. Our doors are wide open at the above dates & times for students & families to enjoy:

    • a self-guided tour,

    • practice walking schedules,

    • setting up lockers,

    • purchasing locks

        • ($12 for two locks with matching combinations; one lock for the hallway locker & one for the P.E. locker),

    • dropping off school supplies in lockers, &

    • dropping off physicals for 6th graders & athletes.

August 9 ~ 9 A.M., 11 A.M. & 1 P.M. ~ optional for new to Kingsley famlies

  • In person at Kingsley cafeteria:

For families who would like a administrator-led Kingsley introduction followed by a staff-led tour, we will host an in-person option on Monday, August 9 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. & 1p.m.

  • Virtual from any location good for you:

If a virtual Kingsley welcome is better for your family, we have that too on Wednesday, August 11 at 1p.m. ~ Join the Virtual Introduction via Google Meet by clicking here.

If you would like to decorate the inside of your locker, you are welcome to do so. Please help us take care of the lockers by avoiding the use of duct tape, packing tape, hot glue, contact paper, or any other strong adhesive. These items pull the paint off the locker & leave it in poor condition for the next child.

Families have discovered that lining the locker with lightweight wrapping paper works well. For the wrapping paper to adhere to the locker interior, families share that magnets or basic Scotch tape are ideal.

Mascot Transition-Kingsley Cougars

In 20-21, Kingsley students & staff made suggestions for a new mascot that emulates the value of community. A group of staff members carefully considered all of the suggestions, & two student groups shared perspectives about what was important to them. Using that student input, a ballot was created that included:

  • a brief description of the mascot option &

  • how that mascot option demonstrated the value of community.

Students & staff voted to select “Kingsley Cougars” as our mascot beginning the 21-22 school year.

  • Brief description: A cougar is a large cat, native to North America. They can live in many different ecosystems, & have no natural enemies. When young, cougar families can work together to defend territory, keeping one another safe. Once grown & enough skills developed, cougars live independently.

How does the Cougar mascot emulate the value of community? Kingsley students come from a variety of backgrounds, & come together to support each other & have each other's backs. Kingsley students grow their skills under the care of family and staff so that one day, they will be live independently.
