PINNING CEREMONY
The Pinning Ceremony will be held at the end of the program. Appropriate attire will be designated by the program.
All students are strongly encouraged to attend this special time of reflection and celebration that comes from work well done. Pins are program designated and are purchased independently by the student or program. If the pin used has an “RN” insignia, Texas Board of Nursing mandates such pin must not be worn until successful completion and passing of the NCLEX-RN.
GRADUATION GUIDELINES
To graduate and receive a diploma, a student must apply for graduation, successfully complete all prescribed course studies, and satisfy all financial obligations to the college. The “Application for Graduation” is filed with the Office of Admissions and Records at the beginning of the last semester. Diplomas are issued after final grades have been recorded on the student’s permanent record and the student is certified by the admissions department as a graduate.
Graduation does not imply that the graduate will pass any licensing or qualifying examination (NCLEX-RN) for a Registered Nurse. Entry into the practice of nursing is regulated by the licensing authorities within the State of Texas (Board of Nursing) and requires successfully passing the NCLEX-RN exam.
