Exams are listed by week in the syllabus.
Testing is on a set week and at a set time to be scheduled by instructors.
Testing will be done via Google Meeting or other application at a location of your choice. (Follow the Remote Testing Policy below.)
Any student who receives less than 85% on any exam will be required to complete remediation for that exam. It is the student’s responsibility to follow the LVN-ADN Program remediation policy which outlines the specific remediation requirements. For Level 3 students only: HESI information can be found in the HESI remediation policy the student signs specific to each exam, for each course. Remediation for exams will be determined at the instructor’s discretion. Failure to complete remediation assignments will result in a 10 point deduction from the associated exam grade.
Students will have 1.5 minutes per exam question. The specific number of questions will be determined in each course.
Most unit exams are 50 questions with a maximum of 75 minutes to complete the unit exams.
The final exams may be up to 100 questions with a maximum of 2 ½ hours to complete the final exam—THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS ON TEST TIMES.
Students will act professionally while proctored or disciplinary action will be taken.
Quizzes and exams may be completed in Canvas, Sherpath, HESI, ATI or other online applications.
Exams may include multiple choice, or alternate forms of questions (example: select all that apply or NGN format). No extra credit questions are included, exam scores are NOT rounded.
Each student is expected to take exams on the days and times they are scheduled. If a student must miss an exam, the student will be expected to make contact with the instructor prior to the exam and make arrangements within 24 hours for a make-up exam. The exam given may not be the same version the class was given and may be presented in an alternate format, at the instructor’s discretion. Make-up exams must occur within one day of the initial exam date or exam score will result in a zero (0), unless prior arrangements have been made.
Accommodations for make-up exams will not be made for personal events, vacations, weddings, etc.
Testing: know your login information. You may use a calculator for math questions as directed by your instructor. Do NOT have books, notes, electronic devices, purses etc. in the test area.
One small dry erase board will be allowed for calculations/notes during the exam. The board must be shown on camera (wiped clean) prior to beginning exam and after exam.
Students are not allowed to leave the room during an exam. Please make sure all charging cables are within reach during an exam. Be sure and use the restroom prior to starting the exam.
Students that wish to challenge a question on an exam, quiz or other assignment, must email the instructor the subject matter of the question (screenshots or “copy and paste” are considered cheating/plagiarism), and must provide at least two (2) sources to support their answer. The instructor will then review the question and sources provided. Once the instructor has made a decision, this decision will stand.
