A separate background check (different from the criminal history background check for individuals applying to take the NCLEX-RN) may be requested by clinical sites and will be obtained as needed.
The cost will be the responsibility of the student. The inability to participate in required clinical courses may constitute dismissal from the program.
In order for a student to be accepted or remain in the ADN Program, the student must be able to complete the clinical requirements and comply with the clinical site’s criminal history requirements.
All items required for the student clinical file and clinical course attendance must be filed at the TSTC ADN Program office to be provided to the clinical facilities. It is the student’s responsibility to submit all up to date documents to the TSTC ADN Program Department. Failure to do so will result in a student action plan (SAP) being given. Students cannot attend clinicals without all items of the clinical documentation in their student file. These items include a Blue card/DO clearance letter, drug screen, vaccine records and/or boosters depending on the clinical site), urine drug screen, LVN License, proof of personal health insurance, and BLS card.
