The Declaratory Order process permits the Texas Board of Nursing to make decisions regarding a petitioner’s eligibility for licensure prior to entering or completing a nursing program. The eligibility determination takes a minimum of 3-6 months. Individuals are strongly encouraged to petition the Board for an eligibility determination PRIOR to enrollment in a nursing program.
