Students are not permitted to have cellphones or any electronic messaging device turned on while in the classroom or clinical setting, unless designated by the instructor. Earbuds should not be worn in clinical or lab. If this occurs, the student may be asked to leave the lab and or clinical site. Computers may be used in class if the instructor allows. Class breaks are generally announced allowing the student the opportunity to return or make calls at that time. You should notify your family that you are not to be interrupted during class or clinical hours. The faculty will take emergency calls outside the classroom so minimal disruptions occur during class or simulation. This is limited to sudden illness or death in the family. Students are not to receive personal phone calls or texts in the clinical setting.
Instruct your family and day care to contact the Nursing Instructor; the Sweetwater Program Department (325) 235-7493; and/or the ADN Harlingen Program Department (956) 364-4690.
