Week 19

Week 19 - Kofi A.

Downsview, for the week of February 13th, your Student of the Week is Kofi A. Kofi is in the eleventh grade at Downsview.

Praise for Kofi comes from all corners of our building. Let’s get right to it, first, from Ms Basit: “Kofi is a shining star of our class. He has grown to be a very confident and responsible young man. Kofi completes all his assignments with the best of his ability. He volunteers in group activities, and takes initiative in character building projects. He helps his peers whenever he can. He is an important part of our life skills activities and motivates others to do the job well. We are proud of Kofi and happy to have him in our class.”

Ms Gheorghe adds: “Kofi is a fine, polite young man who enjoys school very much. He is always ready to help in my class. Having a very good memory, he is always the first who will give answers when revising our knowledge in subjects like Canadian provinces and territories, Canadian animals and Social Skills. He really shows his beautiful dance moves when his favorite songs are up on the whiteboard, and a lot of times he invites his classmates to join in an energetic end-of-the-day dance. Kofi always greets people around the school, and he is comfortable making small talk in the hallway when we meet. I wish Kofi to keep the good work and to have lots of success and fun in the future.”

Hear this, from Ms Susnik: “Kofi is a reliable student who honours his words and commitment.  He comes to class with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Kofi demonstrates leadership qualities by modelling examples of personal responsibility, fairness and good citizenship.  Congratulations Kofi on being the Student of the Week!”

And, from Mr Lewin: “Kofi is a remarkable young man who always  enriches the lives of others through his positive nature and infectious smile. Kofi's work ethic is truly commendable. He is always willing to help those student scholars who are in need. Kofi  is a truly special young man and an invaluable member of the Downsview family. Kofi, your   compassionate nature is inspiring. The world is a better place because of people like you.   The Downsview family is so proud of all that you have accomplished. Keep on being you!”

CYW Ron has this to say: “I had the pleasure of joining Ms. Saadia's class for a walk to Downsview Park. I was able to witness Kofi's kindness to both his peers, and staff. Kofi gave me a tutorial on how to use the swing! Thank you, Kofi.

And, from Ms Auld: “Kofi is an enthusiastic learner and a wonderful asset to Downsview Secondary School. Kofi is well liked by his peers and frequently shows care and concerns for others throughout the day. When facing a difficult task Kofi perseveres even when it gets tough. Kofi is a responsible, confident, charming, funny, and compassionate young man. I've had the pleasure of working with Kofi for about four years and I'm very impressed to see how much he has grown. Congratulations Kofi! You are Student of the Week and you truly do deserve it.”

Mr. Ramnaraine adds: “I look forward to seeing Kofi every morning as I walk into school. His smile and positive energy reminds me that that is the way I should start my day! Kofi is a great dancer and enjoys having a good time! Congratulations Kofi!
