Jeshurun A.

Downsview, for the week of January 15th, we celebrate Jeshurun as our Student of the Week. Jeshurun is in the eleventh grade at Downsview.

Jeshurun has a lot of fans. Let’s hear first from our Vice Principal, Ms Forde: “Jeshurun is a bright and energetic student who is a valued and appreciated member of our school community.   His kindness and caring brings warmth and friendliness to one and all.  He is a happy helper who loves to participate within his classroom and beyond.  Jeshurun is also a very active learner; we are proud of his eagerness to explore and grow.  Jeshurun, we all congratulate you for modeling the spirit of Downsview in everything you do!”

And, more praise from Ms Pal: “Jeshurun Amparbin has made amazing gains since joining Mr. Lindsay’s class. He is working on improving his communication and social skills and we are so proud of the progress he is making. Thank you to the team of room 132!!”

Hear this from Ms. Basit: “Jeshrun enthusiastically participates in classroom activities. He helps with the classroom chores. He welcomes all visitors to his class with a big smile on his face.”

Ms. Skye says: “Jeshurun is a great addition to our classroom. Each day I greet him at the bus Jeshurun always has a smile that is infectious. He has the ability to make others smile and laugh with his humour and personality. Jeshurun please continue to strive each day and inspire others”.

Here’s what Ms. Susie has to say: “I had the joy of working with Jeshurun the last few years. He has made great progress in his daily life and personal growth at school. Jeshurun is a pleasure to be around. He has a smile that melts your heart. Jeshurun we all appreciate you gentle spirits. It is truly an honour to have the opportunity to support you in your learning everyday.”

Ms. Reid says: “Jeshurun has the ability to effortlessly greet you with an infectious smile that is heartwarming, sincere, and tells a story that creates curiosity amongst those around him. I've had the pleasure of witnessing the growth of this young person over the past year and seeing him become more self-sufficient with routine daily tasks, as well as using non-verbal cues to effectively communicate his interests with both staff and peers. Congratulations on winning student of the week, Jeshurun! You are such a joy to be around and we are fortunate to have you in our school community.”

Here this from Mr. Lewin: “Jeshurun is an incredible DD student scholar who has made an invaluable contribution to the Downsview school community through his infectious smile, boundless optimism and strong 

work ethnic . His compassionate , empathic, and selfless nature has inspired his fellow peers to be agents of change. Jeshurun's fundamental goodness captures the very essence of what makes Downsview such a special space for all stakeholders. Jeshurun, the Downsview family is so proud of all that you have accomplished. Keep up the superlative work!

And finally from Mr. Lindsay who nominated Jeshurun: “Many of you have seen Jeshurun in the hallways. His distinctive walk, his curious nature, and his ever so contagious smile. Jeshurun has made many improvements throughout the school year. Jeshurun has stepped out of his comfort zone and has engaged in his environment. His curiosity has propelled him to engage with students in the hallway and enter the ever so welcoming classrooms throughout Downsview. Jeshurun continues to learn about his environment and has made great improvements in his personal care and daily living. Jeshurun loves to paint, listen and mimic rhymes, and peruse through websites. He continues to make improvements and communicates his needs through various ways. Jeshurun we are all so proud of you. Continue to be the best version of yourself in everything that you do. 

Well, Jeshurun, you heard it here. Your smile and loving energy have earned you this award. Congratulations again, Jeshurun, you are a very deserving Student of the Week.
