At level 3 students are expected to have a fair to very good command of Te Reo Māori. This program requires student commitment and self motivation to aspire to the level of fluency required at level 8 of the curriculum. Students will be required to complete work within a certain time frame set by the kaiako. Topics will range from pre - 1900s to local, national and global settings.
At this level students are able to read, write and speak with a fluency equivalent to level 8 of the curriculum. Commitment and self determination is integral for student success at this level.
Kaupapa and topics centred around the local, national and global issues are student driven meaning that students are able to choose topics of interest around career aspirations, tikanga and current events. Attendance is essential for student success at this level.
