This course is a skills based course designed to equip Year 12 students with both knowledge of the past and skills necessary to succeed in Tertiary study.
Students of history develop a valuable set of skills that are transferrable to a range of careers, including: Research, Communication, Critical Thinking, Problem solving and the ability of students to interpret evidence and make judgements.
Course Content
Course Content
Our first Topic is a study on Hitler and Nazi Germany. Students will learn how Hitler was able to come to power, how he evolved from a leader to a dictator, and the actions that both he and the Nazi party took.
A detailed study on the Holocaust and the start of World War Two will also be included.
Our second topic considers the middle east, including the Israel/Palestine issues through to more recent events such as the Iraqi war and the use of terrorism as a weapon.
