This course is a skills based course designed to equip Year 11 students with both knowledge of the past and skills necessary to succeed in Tertiary study.
Students of history develop a valuable set of skills that are transferrable to a range of careers, including: Research, Communication, Critical Thinking, Problem solving and the ability of students to interpret evidence and make judgements.

Level 1 History provides an introduction to stories from our past. It allows students tp explore crucial moments in the development of New Zealand as a nation, as well as skills that are essential in the modern work force.

History 1.1, 5 Engage with a variety of primary sources in and historical context.
History 1.2 Demonstrate Understanding of the significance of an historical context
History 1,3 Demonstrate understanding of historical contexts of historical concepts to Aotearoa New Zealand
