Te Reo Māori
Level 2
Year 10 - Level 1 TRM or by negotiation.
At level 2 students taking Te Reo Māori will experience a more comprehensive program focusing on extending their reading, writing and speaking comprehension skills, gained from their prior learning experiences. The program will centre on reading and writing skills at level 7 of the curriculum encouraging students to write more extensively on Te Reo Māori topics and kaupapa generated yearly by local, national and global events.
Students will be given opportunities to participate and lead in cultural events in and around the Marae, school and community where applicable.
A haerenga (trip) is planned bi-annually for students at level 2 in line with a kaupapa aromatawai (assessment) as discussed with the SLT.
Students are able to gain a total of 28 credits at this level, this includes literacy credits.
Completion of a full year’s program at level 2 is a prerequisite to level 3.
