Why should you take this course?

Level 2 NCEA Business Studies will give you the opportunity to learn and understand the role of business in your society; help you explore and develop enterprise, teamwork, communication, negotiation, decision making problem solving and market research research skills through creating a business and carrying out business activities.

It will also prepare you for NCEA Level 3 Business Studies - an approved University Entrance (UE) subject.

If you are doing Trades, Business Studies will provide you with essential skills which will be an asset for you when you decide to run your own business either as a builder, mechanic or caterer.

One of the assessments is worth 9 credits and requires you to work as a team and form a business, create a product, write a business and financial plan, carry out two business activities with a review at the end of each business activity.

If you are planning to do this course, it will helpful when you start planning next year to think of possible products you could produce over the school holidays.
