color design

For this project I painted eighty four colors in ten squares and the background. The colors I used were blue, blue-green, green, yellow-green, yellow, yellow-orange, orange, red-orange, red, red-violet, violet, and blue-violet. For materials I used a paint brush, acrylic paint, and tape.

To make the painting I first made the border with blue tape. Then I made the background into four triangles. I then added ten differently shaped squares/rectangles on the paper. I then erased all unneeded lines and made seven sections in each box. I then made the blue and green colors for the background making the lightest color in the center and the darkest color on the edge. I then did the yellow and red boxes. The next day I did the yellow-orange, red-orange, blue-green, and yellow-green. THen the last day I did orange, red-violet, violet, and blue-violet. Then I went over the blue and green background to make the lines cleaner and erase any brush strokes. Once dry I went on the border of the painting with silver paint marker. I used the same marker to outline all the squares and the background.

Next time I would do better on the blue and green so that I wouldn't have to go over it again. I would spend more time making the color bold and clean instead of see through and sloppy.
