Ceramics research

Background:

Indigo Cristol - Born in Williamsburg, Virginia. She went to the College of William and Mary where she had a double major of Studio Art and Economics. She likes math and science and incorporates the geometrical shapes into her work. She makes clay for th emotional and tactile experience.

Kelli Sinner - Born in Utah, she went to college at Penn state university. She has taught multiple ceramics classes throughout her carer. Her pieces all represent something from her backyard to how the world felt during covid. Each of her pieces represents a problem to solve.

Compare/Contrast:

Compare - Both of them use geometrical designs and shapes in their pieces and they both have meaning behind each of their pieces that is specific to them.

Contrast - While Sinners pieces have designs that all represent something or are designed to look like something, Cristol's are just geometrical patterns that aren't meant to look like something.

Critique -

Indigo Cristol - I like the designs on them but the shape of them makes them dysfunctional and hard to use. She is very good at creating a pattern and sticking to it which makes the pieces look nice.

Kelli Sinner - I like her work because you can see something different in each one and they each have their own voice. She also makes functional things but adds a fun twist which is cool.
