On the tile project I had to make a slab of clay, use an underglaze and carve into it to make a design.
To start I took a piece of clay and I rolled it out using a wooden roller. When it was a flat slab I then cut it into the shape I wanted. I then coated the leaf green underglaze on the slab three times and let it dry. To speed up the drying process I used a hair dryer. I then used a tool to draw my design. I then used a different tool to carve in the stem and the leaves. Then I didn't like how it looked so I completely carved out the leaves. Then once I finished the leaves I outlines them and drew stripes on one sine to add more texture. I then used the HF-10 clear glaze on top.
I like how this project turned out. I kind of with that it would have stayed more teal after it was fired but I still think it looks good.
