Idea Generation Sketches

Carved Block

What guided my artwork was the task to create four prints with the design of our choice. You had to carve out the block first, and then you could start printing. The task was to make one solid color, one multi-colored, one on a unique surface, and one with an additional drawing on top of the print.

How I created my artwork was at first I came up with two idea-generation sketches and then I would copy one of the sketches and copy into onto my block. After I finished carving you add paint to the block and stick a piece of paper on top.  Then you could remove the block from the paper and the print was finished.

What changed from the beginning to the end was that I was originally pretty set on choosing my fish design, but then in the end I chose the flower design because I felt it had more details. Other than that overall most of the ideas stayed the same.
