Extended Blind Contour Drawing

Mountain with Hiking Trails

Paper

12" by 18"

The main idea I was trying to get across with my artwork was that after blind contour drawing was that after I drew the faces and my hand in a certain position, I wasn't sure what I saw. I tried looking at it for a while then I asked my friend Clio what she saw. She said she saw a mountain and then I realized the lines could not only be the mountain but hiking trails.

This artwork was made by me looking at my hand in certain positions without looking at the paper the whole time. Then I did the same while looking at two faces. After this, we looked at them to see what we saw in them. To be honest, I wasn't sure what I saw in mine so I asked around and the mountain was thrown out. I decided to go with this. Then I made more lines that could be hiking trails.

The difference between my idea in the beginning in the finished project is that I never really had an idea going into this project of what my finished product would look like. But after I got an idea of what I was gonna turn the abstract drawing into what I was picturing I made pretty much what I was picturing in my head.
