The main idea that guided my artwork was to draw something realistic, that was the same size and had the same characteristics as the picture was taken. It is a picture of you with no alterations or you were able to choose a baby picture or add a filter which is what I chose to do. We had to make a 1-inch by 1-inch grid across the image printed out and the drawing paper so that when we would begin drawing it would be easy to draw one box at a time.

The materials I used were graphite pencils When I was first starting to draw each individual box I would begin drawing lightly with a 2H pencil. And I would fill usually the whole box with the 2H pencil. I would use it to show where the highlights and lowlights would go making a guide as to where I would darken. Then I would use an HB pencil to darken the lowlights. After finishing with the HB pencil I would finish off the box by using a 4B pencil for the darkest places.

The process I went through between my idea and the finished piece began with deciding what picture I wanted to use. I was going to do a baby picture then I decided to do a filter, the next decision was deciding what filter I should use. Once I had the picture I was going to be using the rest of the project was pretty self-explanatory and I didn't have to make many if any choices about the artwork.
