What guided my artwork was the prompt was to have 84 colors. In the color checklist, we would distinguish all the tints and shades.  We had to come up with an idea on how we would include all these colors in one painting.  In addition, we were told that there would be no mixing of colors, every color had to be layered with itself.

To start this project I had to choose a picture in which I would paint with all of these colors. I thought a good way and easier way to include all these colors was to choose a sunset because there are many colors in sunsets. Also, I knew I had some pictures of a sunrise while being out on the water. From there, I would split everything into sections for each solid color to lay.

Ways in which my idea changed was that in the beginning, when choosing what I wanted to draw, for instance, the physical picture I was choosing, I went in many different directions before settling on doing the one chosen in my final piece.  Also, in the beginning I was going to be doing a much larger canvas than I chose for my final product. Other than this the idea I had at the beginning mostly stayed the same throughout the whole project.
