The main idea that guided all three of my time capsules was simply to make it as realistic as I could make it. I wanted these to be clear with what they are. In my watercolor painting, there was purple and red paint on the sides of the real pallette. So I tried to incorporate that in.
For all three of these, I started with a 2h graphite pencil base. From there for my watercolor painting, I went on to outline in pen and then moved on to all my different colors. For my corner of the room and self-portrait, stuck with graphite but went with different levels to shade in.
For all three time capsules, I did a lot of revising and experimentation. I started drawing and I didn't like how it turned out so I went back and revised it. I did this many times for the corner-of-the-room time capsule. I also experimented a lot and just went with what I thought was right
