The main idea that guided my artwork was to create something beautiful that represented the ocean. The ocean is one of my favorite places and creating something that represented that was important to me. I also wanted to portray that rainy, or stormy days can also be something beautiful.

The materials I used to create this piece were acrylic paint and canvas. I used painting techniques I learned throughout the year. I started by sketching out my outline of the ocean scene. I then added paint throughout my canvas and added details and perspectives where it was needed.

The process I went through to get to my final piece was experimentation and revision. I went back to revise this project many many times. At first, I did not like the way it blended, so I added more paint. Then, I went back to add birds and change the way my sky looked. I kept going back to this piece attempting to get it perfect. Overall I really enjoy this piece, and how it came out.
