The main idea that guided all of my artwork was being expressive within the parameters of the assignment. I did this by adding color, or shading, or adding different types of drawing tools to best show my art expressingly. With my negative space leaves artwork I mixed different colors together to try and add as much color as possible.

For all three of my drawings I started with graphite on either printmaking paper or just regular paper. The next step I took was adding ink and outlining my leaf and zentangle drawings in black sharpie pen. Then I took different final steps for each of my drawings. For my zentangle I kept with sharpie and sharpie pen to progressively get darker. For my leaf drawing I started adding and mixing my watercolor. For my hand drawing I kept with graphite and started to shade.

For all of my drawings I did a lot of experimenting. The hardest one to make was definitely my negative space hand drawing. I struggled a lot with getting this looking accurate and getting the proportions to their correct size. For my zentangle I experimented a lot and for the most part just went for it. I did not go back on this drawing very much. Finally, for my leaf drawing I went back a few times, but for the most part I really like how this turned out. I mostly experimented for this drawing, not revising it too much.
