Duck Stamp

Relaxing in the Water

9 X 12

Acrylic, pen, and graphite on canvas paper.

The main idea of my duck stamp was to make my duck as realistic as possible. Completing my duck stamp, I had the idea of the importance of conservation in mind. Saving wildlife is very important to me, and I tried to portray that with my art.

The materials I used to create my duck stamp were graphite, acrylic, and ink. I started sketching my duck stamp with graphite, and I filled it in within acrylic as I went along. I filled the details of the wing in with a pen.

The process I went through was a lot of revision and research. I looked through many photos and images of the green-winged teal. And I went back over my work and revised it many times. I kept adding little details to the duck, sky, and water.
