Bookends

The fifth project we worked on this semester in ceramics was creating bookends. When I was coming up with an idea I knew I wanted to something with animals so I decided on a horse. I was looking up horse bookends and a lot of them were the front of a horse and the end of a horse. But, I didn't want to do that I wanted to do something a little different so I decided to do just the front of the horses. One of them is a clean and put together show horse and the second is a more wild looking horse with a messy mane.

The process of making these horse bookends wasn't super easy it took a lot of work trying to get the horses to look similar and in the middle of the back panel. When I was done and started glazing I decided to choose a color that would look shiny and give the bookends a stone look because that was my original plan.

Overall I really liked this project it was one of my favorite ones and I really like how they turned out. With all the time I put into making them I'm very happy with how they turned out.
