3: First I just drew a quick sketch of my idea and then touched it up a little bit. I played with some of the ideas and physical characteristics I wanted the people in the drawing to be a diverse group so I played with a lot of different characteristics that I could use. Also, I experimented of what I wanted the art the people are holding to be. I made sure there was some abstract, landscapes, expressionistic designs, etc. I wanted the art to be as diverse as the people. At first I had no idea of what I wanted to do, but then once we watched the video and I got my idea my idea did not change or evolve very much. I feel like it stayed pretty close to my original idea and did not change as much in the process as my ideas usually do throughout a project. Some of the next steps I could take would be taking some more time with better colored pencils so I could burnish it more in certain places to add a richer shade and value of the colors. In some places I could definitely touch up some of the lines, just to make them more definite and less messy.
1: For this project I wanted to convey an inclusive community in a drawing with no stereotypes or things like that. After watching a video in art class about the inclusive art communities and all the talented artists that had disabilities, but were amazing artists treated equally in the art world. I wanted to show that art is a form of expression that does not matter who you are, but it is about what you make and what art does for a person. This is why I drew the artwork over the people’s faces because it should not matter what a person looks like or is like to be an artist. 2: I decided that I wanted to do a simple graphite drawing with some splashes of color. First for the simple outline of everything I just used a 4B pencil. Then afterwards I used colored pencils to hopefully add emphasis in certain places that needed it.
