Beautiful Oops

First I started with the dog and traced in pencil then went over it in sharpie. I thought it would look good if I used watercolors and it would be a bright image. Then I used pencil to create lines for the rays of sunshine, but the watercolor smeared and I looked the looks of it so I decided to abandon my original idea of making the drawing very linear.

it sort of evolved from a very neat, linear, simple theme to more of a expressionistic, bright theme. I also did not originally plan to color in the dog, but I thought it would look more balanced if I did. I wish I had not colored in my dog because I feel like when I left it white it was the focus of the drawing and now it sort of just blends in.

I think that I probably could have done a second coat because there are still some places where it is transparent and you can see pencil lines. In edition I think I would work on cleaning it up just a little bit in some places.

For this project I was not sure what to make at first, but then the ink spot sort of looked like a dog to me. I turned the paper in all directions and decided that I thought that I could make the ink into a dachshund dog. I thought that I wanted to make it more like a cartoon than realistic.

I chose to draw a dog because I really like dogs and I used to know a dachshund dog and the ink blob sort of reminded me of the dogs ears from a certain angle. This dpg was always very happy and sweet so this is what made me draw the dog as more of a cartoon and use mostly bright colors opposed to dark ones.

First I did a lot of tracing then I tried to make everything very linear. When I actually went through with this idea I did not like the results of it. I decided to change this idea when I accidentally smeared some watercolor in a place on the paper where I had not originally planned to paint. Then I sort of just painted and made interesting smears and patterns as I thought where needed.
