For materials I used a lot of different things for each component of the drawing. For the original outline I just used a pencil and then traced everything over with gel pen to clean up the lines. Then for the background I used water color. I also used water color for the floors, but it looked a little bit messy. Then I went back over the floors with gel pen after everything was dry to make defined lines. For the duck I drew it on a separate piece of paper and used colored pencil to draw it. Then I cut it out and glued it on to my artwork. Finally, the bubbles were difficult, because I figured they would not show up they way I wanted them to because my background color was much darker then intended. I decided I would have to cut out little circles, but I was not confident that I could cut out good looking circles like I wanted. I used a hole-puncher and then glued all the little pieces on where I wanted them.
At first I was unsure of how to commence with my project and it was literally just a bathtub with bubbles. I decided just to start with the background and come back to the details later so I could think about what materials I wanted to use and how I wanted the bubbles to look. After I did the background I realized that drawing the bubbles with colored pencil was not going to work as I planned. I decided to hole punch little bits of white paper out instead so they would be visible. I think I should have colored the bubbles lightly with blue just to give off the illusion that they were three-dimensional. Also, think I could shade some blue in spaces to make it look like it’s not just a tub full of bubbles and there is some water too. Lastly, I wish I had added a faucet or something the water appears to be coming from because I think that would be a cool detail.

At first i was not sure how I wanted to incorporate circles, but the first thing I thought about was bubbles. After awhile that idea evolved into a bubble bath in a bathroom. I decided to draw it in a circular outline instead of a normal rectangle one to add to the circle focus. First I drew the background then realized the bubbles would show up better if I cut them out. When I was done everything in the bathtub looked very bland. The purple background was the only colored thing so it drew the most attention. To draw more attention to the bubbles I decided to add a rubber duck that was colored yellow. This gave it a pop of color that I wanted it to have. I honestly do not really know what inspired me to make this. Just the first thing I thought of when I thought of circles was bubbles. Overtime my idea of bubbles evolved into a bubble bath sort of scene. Then I just added some color in the background and tile floors I thought matched what I wanted my artwork to look like.
I did everything in pencil first then traced over it with gel pen. I was going to usrd colored pencil, but then thought water color would match with the rest of the art better than colored pencil. I was not sure that the texture of the colored pencil would look as smooth as watercolor. The only place I used color pencil was on the rubber duck I drew. I drew the duck yellow so it created emphasis in the area I placed it in. For my bubbles I tried several different types of paper, but I found that just regular drawing paper worked the best. Lastly, for my floors I just tried really to make them look realistic to an actual tile floor. Because of the angle I chose to do this was hard at first, but then I used linear perspective which made it easier.
