Artist Statement

during this project I had to learn how to use charcoal and ink. I had only had experience with graphite colored pencil and paint in the past but i had to learn how to use ink and charcoal for this project. I realized during this project that I actually like to use charcoal out of any of the other ways I was allowed to do I started by using graphite to create light shading and the out line and the to darken the image I used Charcoal. Then I used ink to get the darkest points in the project. At the start of this project to learn how to use charcoal and ink I made a value strip to learn how to shade with the materials then I put it all together in to the maine project. DUring the making of this project I lost the image of the value strip.
