Ceramic Teapot

Ceramic Teapot:

For this project we were instructed to create a teapot. The teapot was preferred to have a theme that went along with the design of the overall pot. For my design I decided on a garden/plant theme. For this pot I started with the body which contained two small pinch pots stuck together to form a hollow ball shape. After that I a made a handle and curved it at the bottom to form almost a vine like handle. The spout of the teapot was the most difficult because I accidently cut the hole too low at first and had to fill it in and re cut it higher. AFter this I went back and cut out some flower petals to slip and score the pieces on the body. And lastly for the cap I made a little sprout with a leaf to give that effect of a plant. Throughout the whole project the supplies I used were wooden tools, metal needle tool, and glaze.

Overall if I could find something to do differently I would have took more time when glazing the finished pot because it was very messy when it was done, especially around the edges of the flowers. Although the glaze was messy I really liked the color combos I used and shades. I thought that all the glaze shades and colors went together really well.

If I could go back and fix something I may make the pot bigger, and better structured. Something I also forgot to do was glaze the inside of the pot in order to make it better useable but Overall this was one of my favorite projects and I really like the outcome of it.

this was my overall picture process for my project!
