Alex's work and ideas come a lot from animals and plants, she uses the muscle, bones, branches, and part of the organisms to create her work. She uses these to structure and piece together each physical form she creates. She expresses life and energy through her ceramic forms. She uses a lot of surface textures and design to bring her work to life. Not only does Alex focus on her textures but she also focuses on bright and contrastable colors. She had found various techniques for a brighter color glaze palette. She uses a mid-range porcelain to create and shape her work, Alex's work uses a layered and multi- temperature glaze firing in order to fulfill her work and dezires. You will tend to see many patterns and decorated details throughout her sculptural pieces. Her work contains of mixed media and two dimensional pieces.

I chose Alex because her art really stood out to me. The colors, designs, and patterns really drew me in and had me digging more into her art works and sculptural pieces. Her artwork is so playful and so unique. Not only do I think her artwork would draw anyone in but i also feel like young children would love seeing her work, all the blends of colors and different shades, textures, and shapes. the longer you stare at her work the more detail and added figures you'll find.
