Throughout my art experience I think I really benefited from ceramics II this year. I started out with ceramics I because I wanted to try something new and since my mom had majored in ceramics and the arts she told me it would be a good class to take. I decided to take it and the class did not disappoint. I think one of the main reasons I was so successful was because of the teacher, he was always there to support and kindly critique the any work. I had a lot of fun and I wish there were more ceramics courses I could take next year. I think one of the hardest things in this course was patiences. I struggle with being a patient and sitting still working on the same thing. Sitting molding and pinching the same thing for an hour straight was not my cup of tea but I definitely think the outcome of each project was worth the time. Over time I learned that in order to have something come out nicely done and neatly done I would need to be patient and take my time on each detail.
My favorite project was the duality project because I loved the color and everything about the tile I created. I work the most on this one and took the most time on it too. I really had high expectations for it and I could easily say this was probably the only project that ended up meeting those expectations. I think it really fit the style and it really fit the vibe of my room too, I ended up hanging it on my wall and I think it looks really nice. My least favorite project this year was probably the book ends, I dont think its the process of the project I didn't like, I think it was finished product. I really didn't like the size I made them nor the colors I used which is why it was lead to be my least favorite. I think maybe if it came out neater it would have been a lot more likable.
Overall this class was an experience and I looked forward to my white days because of it. I think the class, the people, and just the environment in general was a great place to be and to work. I would recommend this class to anyone who was interested in the arts and even if they just wanted to try something new!!
